Poley Mountain expansion part of four-season destination vision
A popular ski resort near Sussex took a big step in its evolution recently.
Poley Mountain Resorts purchased 110 acres of land on the resort’s western edge.
General manager Jamie Hare said the acquisition represents a “tremendous opportunity” for Poley.
“The addition of this land opens the door to exciting possibilities,” Hare said in a press release. “From expanded recreational experiences to a diverse range of accommodation offerings that will elevate the guest experience.”
Looking ahead, Poley will work with Ecosign, a Whistler, B.C.-based company that specializes in mountain resort planning.
“We’re incredibly excited about what’s next,” said volunteer president Michael MacNeil. “This planning process will help us unlock the full potential of our expanded footprint, from expanded skiing and recreation to thoughtfully designed on-hill accommodations.”
A release from Poley said concepts like ski-in/ski-out condos, private building lots and potential hotel and spa facilities are being explored.
Hare said the expansion supports Poley’s mission to provide more value for guests.
“This acquisition is more than just land,” he said. “It’s a major step toward realizing our vision of becoming a true four-season destination.
“We’re building something special for our community, our visitors and future generations.”
