Community meeting planned in Salisbury with CIBC representatives
A meeting with CIBC representatives will be held just over a month after town residents were informed that the branch and ATM’s will close and merge with the Riverview banking centre on Coverdale Road.
The town was informed that the closure would happen on April 15, 2027.
“Our Salisbury Banking Centre has experienced lower business volumes for some time, and the majority of our client transactions take place outside of a banking centre, through mobile, online and telephone banking. As a result of this shift, we’ve made adjustments to our network. We began to notify clients on August 31, 2026, and they can continue to be served at our Riverview Banking Centre, or a neighbouring banking centre of their choosing,” a CIBC spokesperson stated in an email to our newsroom after clients were informed in August.
“CIBC is committed to treating affected team members fairly and with respect. We are making every effort to offer new opportunities to our colleagues or provide them with outplacement and transition support based on their input and the options available to them.”
